So I purchased one of those new salads from Lean Cuisine...it was on sale & I gave in...I got the southwest one...it was okay but for the cost you could pretty much buy all the stuff and make like 5 salads...so that's just what I did!
Ingredients:
Romaine Lettuce
1/2c black beans
1/4c corn
Handful of chopped peppers (I always have some diced and ready to go in the freezer)
4oz Chicken Breast (my husband grilled some breasts with a little bbq sauce on them so I chopped that up)
1 1/2tbsp Crispy Onions
I take all the veggies & saute in a pan, add the chicken & pour over lettuce!
This is a side by side comparison of the 2 salads. One on the left is the Lean Cuisine and the one on the right is my version.
Calories: 260 / 352
Fat: 9gms / 6gms
Sodium: 590gms / 368gms
Protien: 18gms / 30gms
Although the LC is lower in calories, my version has less sodium, less fat and almost double the protien! And it was hella delicious!
