Motivational Monday!

Favorite Cardio is the topic this week....

I love me some cardio! Treadmill....Elliptical....they're okay but that doesn't motivate me, doesn't push me the way I need to push to lose the weight. I learned very early on in my journey that I have to work my ass off, literally! I'm not one of those, lower my calories, jog twice a week & I'll drop the pounds sorta gal....I have to be busting my ass at the gym, come home sweaty, red faced & physically exhausted and even then sometimes the scale doesn't budge....and I'm okay with that....sometimes ;)

So instead of just going on the treadmill or the elliptical, I found some cardio classes that I LOVE and that keep me motivated to go on.....Les Mills programs are fantastic & I talk about them often. Programs include Step, Pump, Attack & Combat...there are quite a few more but these are the only ones I'm in to. Now, what makes these classes even better are the instructors, and boy am I lucky that I scored the best ones! Now, these instructors...not only are they my biggest motivators & supporters but they are people I have grown to call friends. They are people who know what they are doing and give it all they got to make sure you do to....to say "I heart them" is an understatement....enough with the mushy stuff....

Here are some descriptions of the classes straight from the Les Mills Website!

Step: energizing step-based cardio workout that uses a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step. Featuring cardio blocks that push fat burning into high gear followed by muscle-conditioning tracks that shape and tone the body, BODYSTEP™ is ideal for anyone looking for an enjoyable way to increase fitness.

Pump:  original barbell class that appeals to individuals of all ages and fitness levels, and is ideal for anyone looking to get the best possible results in the shortest time. It is favored by those who are bored by an individual weights program and by Group Fitness fans who recognize the need to add some weight training to their routine.

Attack: sports inspired cardio workout that builds strength and stamina. This dynamic, high-intensity program is designed to cater to a wide range of fitness levels and ages. The possibility of using low-impact and low-intensity options throughout the class allows new participants to enjoy the class alongside super-fit regulars!

Combat:  unique, Martial Arts-based workout that’s designed for individuals looking to boost cardio fitness and benefit from total body conditioning. Addictive and fun, this workout is particularly appealing to youthful, sociable individuals – who are likely to attend classes with friends.

Check out the website & see if there are classes in your area...give them a try! And don't just try one instructor, try a few till you find one you love....I know you will.
