Advocare 10 Day Cleanse - Day 1

Today is Day 1 of the Advocare cleanse! 

As you know, I've done this in the past and I've enjoyed my results. With the holidays now past us, I thought it would be a great start to the New Year & hopefully get me out of my holiday eating rut. 
Some information about the cleanse for those who aren't familiar....



The 10 Day Cleanse consists of a Fiber Drink, I choose Peaches n Cream, Herbal Cleanse Tablets & Probiotic Capsules. You take a combination of these items over the course of 10 days along with following a specific diet regimen (no sugar, no dairy, no white carbs, no caffeine) so your pretty much enjoying all the fruits, veggies, protein & whole grains you can.....or in other words, how everyone should really eat on a daily basis ;) The Catalyst is an Amino Acid & I love it! It helps your body recover quicker from workouts & I find it gives me energy. It does not come with the kit, it's extra but I find it's a good addition to the cleanse.
The point of this cleanse, for me, is to get my eating back on track & rid me of the holiday junk that is in my system. For others, it's to lose weight & inches and it will for sure do that, if you follow the plan correctly but as with anything, if you continue with poor eating habits once the cleanse is over then the weight will just come back.

Today starts with a Fiber Drink that I simply mix with crushed ice & water along with some oatmeal with sliced bananas.
Lunch is a salad made up of sliced turkey, shredded carrots, broccoli & a dressing I put together (recipe below).
Dinner is grilled chicken over brown rice with some spanish seasoning.
Snack is a little unconventional but I have Step tonight & need my strength so it's a little brown rice & turkey sausage.
The day ends with the herbal cleanse capsules & some water & I'm off to bed!


Pimento Dressing
1/2cup olive oil
1/2cup white wine vinegar
1 3oz can diced pimentos
3 cloves crushed garlic
3-4 chopped green onions
3tbsp fresh chopped parsley
3tbsp dried basil
Salt & pepper
Mix all the ingredients together & let sit. And then just drizzle over whatever, a little of this stuff goes a long way!

  1. I am in desperate need to start my cleanse. However, it will have to wait another week due to a work conference all of next.
